Focused on professions and occupations, with a particular emphasis on China's grassroots healthcare system reforms
The main research interests focus on professions and occupations, with a particular emphasis on China's grassroots healthcare system reforms. Her work examines the complex dynamics of professional identity, institutional changes, and the social implications of healthcare reform in county-level and rural medical settings. Through in-depth fieldwork in central China, her PhD dissertation explores the transformation of medical professionals' dual identities, shaped not only by the needs of the state but also by the complex interactions among multiple interest groups. By examining the intersection of policy, institutional dynamics, and individual experiences, her research sheds light on the challenges and opportunities within China's evolving healthcare landscape. She is also responsible for research on Chinese social media as part of the DWARC project.
