Fatoumata Diallo is the Acting Head of the Stockholm China Center at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Her work focuses on analyzing key developments in Chinese domestic politics and governance, with particular attention to the drivers shaping China’s political and institutional evolution. She also examines China’s foreign relations and global engagement, particularly in regions such as Europe, the Indo-Pacific, the United States, and Africa. Her research places a strong focus on China’s geostrategic ambitions, defense posture, and security policies, and how these influence broader regional and international security dynamics. In addition to her research activities, Fatoumata leads and coordinates ISDP’s consulting projects.

Prior to joining ISDP, she worked at the EU Delegation to China in Beijing. She holds degrees in International Relations and Chinese Studies from INALCO (Paris, France) and in International Conflict Studies from Leiden University (Leiden, the Netherlands). She also studied Chinese language at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU).
